PRC Winter 5K Series
NEVER LET WINTER WIN!
Keep those wheels turning and the fire burning all winter long when you join in our seasonal 5K series. This low-key, high-yield trio of races gives you the chance to test your training, improve your times, and compete with yourself. Race in December and then focus on your 5K improvement. Train hard, do some speed work, try some hill repeats, or add some miles to your weekly load. Then come back in January and do it again. Your progress might surprise you! Race. Train. Repeat! Whether you are training for a PR or just looking for a great avenue to set some goals for 2023, The Winter 5K Race Series is the ideal platform.
RACE DATES:
- DECEMBER: Saturday, December 17th, 2022, 9:00am • PRC Beaverton (Complete)
- JANUARY: Saturday, January 14th, 2023, 9:00am, • PRC Beaverton
- FEBRUARY: Saturday, February 11th, 2023, 9:00am, • PRC Beaverton
All series racers will be issued a single bib number to be used for all three events.
ENTRY FEES: Individual 5K races are $39 each. Sign up for the series and save your cold cash. Reigster for the 3 -race series and save 10%!
PACKET PICK UP/CHECK IN: 7:30am – 8:45am
PARKING: Follow directions from our parking team. Parking is available in and around the PRC center. Please park FIRST and then come to RACE HQ if you have any questions.
GEAR CHECK: YES! The winter weather forecast is looking really favorable for some great 5Ks but it may still be chilly. Wear warm clothes, bring a bag, and check them at the Gear Check Tent before the race starts.
RESULTS: all races will be chip timed. If you want to receive your results via text, make sure that your registration information contains a mobile phone number. You may add your phone number through your Active.com login. Live results will post throughout the event.
AWARDS: 9:50am
Age Group Winners: Age Groups start with 14 & Under and are in 5 year increments (15-19, 20-24, etc). First place in each age group wins a shiny blue ribbon and a $10 PRC Gift Card. 2nd and 3rd place also receive beautiful ribbons. Age group awards will be available to pick up at the awards table and we will do an abbreviated ceremony to announce the top finishers.

2021-2022 Race Recap
WINTER RACE #1 (Winter Gave Its Best Shot)
Winter gave us its best shot and we still managed to prevail. A little cold? No biggie. A little rain? Fear not. A little Wind Advisory? How about all three? Through the blinding elements, we witnessed enthusiasm, joy, a bunch of super soaked smiles (and a few soaked laptops), and some seriously happy feet and we are ready for more! Race #1 is in the books. Results are posted.

WINTER RACE #2 : Winter Apologizes!
After flexing its muscles in December, Winter took a little break for us in January. The temps were still brisk, but wind and rain were on vacation for the Janaury edition of the series. Race #2 is in the books. How many of you PR’d? Now it’s time to train hard, pound the pavement, tweak the weeks, and come back in February for the season finale. See you next month.

WINTER RACE #3: Winter Takes A Vacation!
For Race #3, Winter headed south (we guess) yielding to blue skies, warm temps, and a whole lotta’ smiles. Congratulations to all 5K racers!

RACE #2: Saturday, January 14th, 9am
PACKET PICK UP: will be held inside PRC Beaverton starting at 7:30am.
PARKING: our volunteers will direct you to the perfect parking spots. Please follow signs and instructions for where to park.
RESTROOMS: Portable restrooms are available at PRC.
START: 9AM. The start/finish line is on SW Gemini just north of the intersection with SW Nimbus about .2 mile from PRC.
AWARDS: There will be a brief post-race awards ceremony. For your individual results, if your Active.com account has a phone number, you will receive a text immediately after finishing.

Race Packets
In person packet pick up begins on Saturday, December 17th at 7:45am at Portland Running Company in Beaverton. Packets include your race bib and your race shirt if you purchased one. For future races, if you signed up for the series and already have a bib, you still need to check in at the registration tent before the race. Going virtual ?
